RICH BITCH!!
Minseo grew up in the lap of luxury, and has never known a hard days work in her life. She's lazy and demanding, but far from a wilting flower. While she might not know how to do even the most basic of things for herself, she also grew up strong willed and won't let anyone push her around. Her pride is easily hurt, and she'll work hard to prove herself against any slights. Unfortunately for her she usually embarrasses herself in the process, and makes the whole thing worse.
When Minseo was young she used to cry a lot to get her way, but the older she gets the more appalled she's become by that tactic. She refuses to cry, or act cute and harmless to get what she wants. She wants to be considered independent and tough, though she may only be one of those things (and it's definitely not independent).
Exposure to more people as she grows up has been slowly eroding some of her self-centered nature, though she's still pretty caught up on her own needs, and will abandon helping others when it causes her too much stress or discomfort. The fastest way to make her push herself far past her comfort zone, however, is to insult her. Suggest that she is some pathetic rich daddy's girl who can't do anything for herself, or that she's so arrogant she can't be bothered to acknowledge other people exist and she'll go full "I'LL PROVE YOU WRONG, ASSHOLE" mode.
Indignation! The best form of self-improvement and character growth!

TWO YEARS LATER
Minseo followed her father's wishes to become a prosecutor, but after four years of college she didn't quite make the cut for law school. Instead moneybags daddy pulled some strings to put Minseo into an unofficial internship with Mr. Nam, a well respected criminal prosecutor with a high success rate.
Mr. Nam was brilliant man, but prickly to a fault. He had no patience for slackers, and would tear into his staff for any small missteps he made. More than once, Minseo left the office in tears, but her pride kept her from quitting or even telling her father about what she was going through.
Minseo's nurtured selfishness was also an issue for Mr. Nam, who would suffer no employee who had no empathy for the clients, a problem he solved easily the first time he handed Minseo an in-depth list of questions to ask a domestic abuse victim, and sent her in to handle the questioning on her own under the guise of the victim being more comfortable with a young woman close to her own age.
Listening to the girl's story left a huge mark on the psyche of the self-centered Minseo, and in that moment something inside her began to change. This young woman was not the only client that Minseo spoke to who had suffered in some way or another, and slowly but surely that icy heart of hers began to bleed little by little.
Some things didn't change, however. Minseo's stubborn streak became worse, not better, and her tenacity and inability to let things go solidified itself. Her need to protect her pride and prove herself is second only to her need to crush those who would hurt people weaker than themselves. She still does not have the most nurturing and comforting of natures, but when people can't fight back she's more than willing to fight for them.

AND THEN it all went to hell
Turned out Rohwan had been pressured to get involved in some very shady organizations that took it past basic theft. Things like human trafficking and organ harvesting were typical means of making money, and traitors were usually sniffed out quickly and killed brutally.
While Minseo didn't know all of this (at first), she could see that Rohwan had clearly changed dramatically since the last time she'd seen him, and that something was deeply wrong with the boy. She began hounding after him, trying to do her best to keep tabs on him while working tirelessly to uncover what the police were working on despite them not being the most helpful to her goals.
Poking around the way she was wasn't without risks, however, and as she began to unravel the truth of the situation, and dive deeper into the truth of the syndicate involved in these horrific crimes, the group she was beginning to look into took notice.
One seemingly typical day Minseo was snatched out of the blue, and carted off to a building owned by the crime lord in charge of the whole operation. They could have easily killed her then and there, and maybe they should have, but they wanted the mole that had led her to them in the first place. They already had strong suspicions who the traitor was, but needed to draw him out of hiding in order to exact their revenge.
In the meantime, Minseo was subjected to acts of violence that resulted in multiple bruises, cuts and a broken tibia. Fortunately her time as a captive was short-lived, and with Rohwan's help the police were able to track Minseo down and use her kidnapping as reason enough to place several men high up on the organizational food chain under arrest while they did more thorough investigations.
Minseo was rushed to a hospital, where an infection for her untreated broken leg kept her there for longer than she would have liked. Still, she felt relatively at ease there, something she didn't realize she'd be missing until the very first time she spent alone in her apartment.
See, Minseo's time as a kidnapping victim wasn't long, but it had still managed to leave deep scars on her psyche. While she did her best to carry on with her life, many things about her had fundamentally changed. She was still dedicated to her job, and most of her outward personality was the same, but she was jumpier, uncomfortable being alone, less likely to go out at night.
The only positive thing to come out of it all was the deep friendship she struck up with Rohwan during it all. The two went from finding each other intolerable during their youth, to forming a platonic and slightly dependent bond after the ordeal they'd shared. While Rohwan's personality and lifestyle was still something Minseo found less than charming, it was nice to know she had a friend she could truly count on.
